We achieve this by pursuing the opportunities in the market. Because in most of our businesses Talenta Capital is a minority shareholder, our criteria of selecting a business is similar to a passenger selecting a bus. These are our 5 criterias in selecting a business : 

1. The bus is a wonderful company. It is a great business: has a economic moat and its products and services are beneficial for its customers. In most cases there aren't a lot of other buses in that route which makes the bus ticket more valuable. 

2. There is a capable driver that has a roadmap. Meaning the controlling shareholder and management are capable of driving the bus to its destination, have a roadmap and constantly share the roadmap to passengers through media interviews, PUBX's, or earning calls that provide forward guidance. In a good bus, we can see where we are in the journey and whats the next stop. We dont get on buses that have no clear information. 

3. The driver and passengers are on the bus. There is shared interest by both to reach the destination. There are some companies where the driver is not on the bus and the bus is driven by passengers, this is very risky. A indication of shared interest is among others, the driver aquires tickets in the open market through aquisitions, there is a fair and open rights issue, there are large number of ticket buybacks, or there is a drivers assistant taking care of tickets regularly in the market. 

4. There is energy to power the journey. Cash is the energy in every business. Cash needs to be transfered into the business at the beginning, the same way a bus needs to be charged. A wonderfull bus can generate energy throughout the journey. And the buses efficiency rate in utilizing & renegerative energy capability can be seen in the Free Cash Flow. 

5. The destination of the bus has not been reached. Meaning the company still has lots of room to grow the business and its market cap. If a bus has 20 stops before reaching it's destination, we would get on the bus somewhere in the earlier stops and get off and diverst our ticket at around stop 15. This allows the next passenger to hold value in the ticket before the bus reaches it's final destination. One starting point of understanding the bus destination is looking at a companies mission statement.
